Toyota Fortuner 2023 Overview
The Toyota Fortuner is a midsize SUV made by Toyota. It is built on the same basis as the Hilux pickup truck. It came out for the first time in December 2004 with two gas and two diesel engines and the choice of RWD or 4WD. The first-generation Fortuner also had a 5-speed manual gearbox and an automatic gearbox with either 4 or 5 speeds.
The first-generation Toyota Fortuner got its first makeover in 2008, which added things like projector headlamps, new rear lights, and Bluetooth connection. The second update came in 2011, when the front fender, hood, grille, headlights, taillights, bumper, and fog light housing were all replaced.
The first-generation Fortuner was released in Pakistan in February 2013. At first, it came in two trims, the Fortuner 2.7 VVT-i and the TRD Sportivo, both of which had a 2.7-liter 2TR-FE engine.
The second-generation Toyota Fortuner came out in 2015 with a new ‘keen look’ style that was different from the Hilux. It came with modern features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags and knee airbags, a “follow me home” light, an all-around sensor, a glove box with a chiller function, digital automatic climate control, all power windows, and a tilt and telescopic steering wheel as standard.
The gas version of the second-generation Fortuner Facelift came out in September 2016. Late in 2017, Toyota Indus released the Fortuner Sigma 4, which has a 2.8-liter diesel engine and more features than the gas version, like a power back door and rear disc brakes, among other things. In January 2020, Toyota Indus also released the Fortuner G trim as the base gas model.
In Pakistan, there are three different kinds of Fortuner: the Fortuner 2.8 Sigma 4, the Fortuner 2.7 V, and the Fortuner 2.7 G. The Fortuner is still a popular SUV in Pakistan because it has both new features and a strong engine.
Exterior Of Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner has a striking pontoon-shaped bumper that is matched by an oversized grille. Separate from the headlamp are distinguishing headlights, daytime running lamps with distinctive designs, and the turn positioning lighting.
There are fog lamps with them. Electrically powered side mirrors are color-coded and available. While G trim comes with basic rear lamps, the sigma 4 and 2.7 V variants of LED rear lamps are also available.
Interior Of Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner 2nd Generation Facelift’s leather-wrapped interior is very high-end and very comfy. The Fortuner Sigma 4 and Fortuner V have an interior that is a mix of leather and black. The Fortuner G, on the other hand, has an all-black interior. The 4.2-inch high-resolution TFT display shows the driver information about the car, such as the digital speed, the driving mode (ECO or sport), the state of the tailboard, the alignment of the wheels, the temperature outside, and other trip-related information.
The new Fortuner has a push-button start/stop system and can be opened with a smart key that also has an emergency button. All Forthuner trims come with a lit entry as a basic feature. The tilt and flexible adjustments can be made on the steering wheel, which is made of leather.
The hydraulic power steering has controls at your fingers for the audio, calls, VR, and MID premium systems. The 8.95-inch capacitive screen in the centre bezel works with both ApplePlay and Android Auto. The entertainment system has Bluetooth, screen mirroring, voice recognition, a USB port, a microphone, and it’s ready for Wifi. With 6 speakers, the sound in the car is good. Toyota Fortuner is also full of safety features, like vehicle stability control with Hill start assist control and traction system control in the G trim, and active traction control, downhill assist control, and a limited-slip differential system in the Sigma 4 and V trims.
All of the trims have drive-start control, information about how the tyres are turning, an emergency stop signal, a light reminder, a shift-lock system, an anti-theft system, and an anti-lock braking system. Only the Sigma 4 trim has a warning for the engine oil level. There are also dual front airbags and knee airbags for the front seats.

Toyota Fortuner Engine
The Fortuner has two engine choices in Pakistan. 2694cc is the capacity of the 2.7 Liter DOHC 16 Valve Chain Drive with Dual VVTi Engine (Petrol). It produces a maximum of 122/5200 kW/rpm at 245/4000 Nm/rpm of torque.
The other engine is a diesel-only, 2.8-liter DOHC 16-valve engine with a 2755-cc inter cooler. It can produce a maximum of 150/3000-3400 kW/rpm at 500/1600-2800 Nm/rpm of torque.
Fortuner Ride & Handling
On both short and long trips, the Fortuner offers a luxurious ride. The vehicle is excellent for off-roading thanks in large part to its 4×4 technology, which allows for smooth driving even on slick surfaces. The vehicle’s power-to-weight ratio and ground clearance are also suitable for off-road excursions.
The car’s active traction control technology allows it to produce the most torque while maintaining a firm grip. A drawback of the Fortuner is its poor riding quality. The ride is abrupt and uncomfortable when driving over potholes since it is unable to efficiently absorb shocks.
