Ford has announced how much the new 2024 Mustang will cost. The price for the EcoBoost will start at $30,920 and go all the way up to $57,970 for the Mustang Dark Horse.

At each trim level, the Mustang will cost about $3,000 more than the model it will replace in 2023. The Dark Horse will be the only exception. Its price will be between the Mach 1 and Mach 1 Premium.

Both the Mustang GT and the Mustang EcoBoost can be upgraded with the Performance Pack. The Performance Pack adds a front strut-tower brace, a Torsen limited-slip differential, wider wheels and tires, bigger Brembo brakes, and a MagneRide active-damping suspension.

Performance-minded drivers can also choose to add Recaro bucket seats and an active exhaust. Ford also has a Performance Electronic Parking Brake that looks like a traditional handbrake and is supposed to make it easier to drift the Mustang. A new track-ready Mustang Dark Horse with a more sinister 500-hp Coyote V-8 engine and a direct line to the Ford Performance parts bin for leaner and meaner equipment upgrades has also been added to the lineup.

Every 2024 Mustang will be available with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but the 2024 Mustang GT will come standard with a classic 6-speed manual gearbox. The Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 in the last-generation Mustang GT made an amazing 420 pound-feet of torque and 450 horsepower, so we should expect the same or even more power in 2024.

Prepare for a different kind of Mustang. Prepare for the Dark Horse 2024 Mustang. This street-legal, track-ready Mustang will be added to the pony car lineup in 2024. It will have a high-output 500-horsepower Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 engine and a number of other upgrades to improve its performance.

The engine, the transmission, and how it works

The new Mustang comes with a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that has been upgraded. It has 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. That’s 5 more horsepower than the old Mustang, but it’s still less than the 330-hp of the old EcoBoost Performance.

Every EcoBoost Mustang comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but the standard transmission for the Mustang GT, which still comes with a 5.0-liter V-8, is a 6-speed manual. The old Coyote V-8 made 450 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, but the new one is rated for 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.

Ford says that a performance exhaust adds 481 pound-feet of torque and 486 horsepower. The all-new Mustang Dark Horse is a step up from the GT that is designed for the track. It has a 500-hp 5.0-liter V-8 and either a 10-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

Ford says that this engine’s heart is made up of connecting rods from the 760-hp Mustang Shelby GT500 and a new intake system. Our test team hasn’t put their equipment on the new Pony yet, but we’ll let you know when they do.

Fuel Economy

The EPA hasn’t released official fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Mustang EcoBoost or GT, but for comparison, the last Mustang with a turbo four-cylinder and 10-speed automatic got an estimated 21 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. For the last-generation V-8, the extra horsepower came at the cost of gas mileage. It got about 15 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. When information about the new 2024 Mustang is available, we’ll put it here.

Entertainment and staying in touch

The new Mustang’s gadgets inside are a big part of how it has changed for the better. A 13.2-inch infotainment screen with Ford’s Sync 4 software is available. It is hidden behind a curved glass panel that runs from the gauge cluster to the middle of the car. With features like a “Fox Body” instrument display, the screens will be very easy to change. They will also use the Unreal gaming engine to add 3D graphics.

Ford will put a lot of controls on the screen. But the Mustang will have a volume knob that is easy for passengers to see and reach.

Ford offers a Performance Electronic Parking Brake for the Mustang. This brake was made with the help of professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.

We already know how much the 2024 Mustang will start at, but now that order banks are open, we can play around with an online configurator. That means it’s time to find out how much the top-of-the-line model with all the extras will cost for the new pony car. And with a price tag of almost $79,515, it costs a bit more than the most recent Shelby GT500 did when it first came out.

For that price, you won’t get a supercharged V8, but you will get the most powerful Mustang that wasn’t a Shelby. To remind you, the Dark Horse has a tweaked version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine, which makes 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. This is true whether you choose the Dark Horse or the Dark Horse Premium, but to find the most expensive price, we’ll start with the premium trim, which starts at $63,160 (including a $1,595 destination fee).
